In juli 2015 maakte ik, samen met mijn ouders een rondreis door Noord-Ethiopie. In dertien dagen bezochten wij veel bezienwaardigheden. Deze tour hebben wij volledig laten organiseren door Semma Kummie. Hij heeft voor ons alles geregeld, de binnenlandse vluchten van en naar Addis, de huur van de fourwheeldrive met chauffeur en de de overnachtingen in Bahir Dar, Gondar, Sankabar campsite (basic lodge in the Simien Mountains), Axum, Hawzien, Mekeleentenslotte in Lalibella.
Voor deze rondreis had ik meerdere touroperators aangeschreven, maar het voorstel van Semma kwam het dichts bij wat wij wilden. Alles is vooraf via mail geregeld en hij reageerde snel op onze vragen en opmerkingen. En achteraf kan ik constateren dat alles klopte met onze verwachtingen. De auto, de hotels en de lokale gidsen die hij onderweg inschakelde, alles was perfect geregeld. Zeker, de lodge in Sankabar was erg basic, maar de kok en zijn assistent maakten heerlijke maaltijden met eenvoudige middelen, maar verse ingredienten. Ook dat was allemaal door Semma georganiseerd. Semma was erg vriendelijk, sprak goed Engels, was gemakkelijk in de omgang. Hij was steeds gericht om het naar onze zin te maken. Chauffeur Tommy was ook erg vriendelijk en erg bekwaam; ook bij lange ritten bleef hij attent en waakzaam. Samen met mij ouders heb ik genoten van een onvergetelijke mooie tour door het groene Noorden van Ethiopie. Semma en Tommy maakten het mogelijk dat wij steeds ontspannen konden genieten van het mooie landschap en de vele bezienswaardigheden. Wij waren ook tevreden over de prijs die wij hebben betaald in relatie tot de geboden kwaliteit. Ik kan Semma van harte aanbevelen bij iedereen die zorgeloos wil rondreizen door Ethiopie.

In July 2015, my parents and I made a 13 days tour through North Ethiopia. Semma Kummie organised the tour for us: he booked our national flights (from Addis to Bahir Dar and from Lalibela to Addis), rented a four wheel drive with driver and booked all the hotels in Bahir Dar, Gondar, Sankabar campsite (basic lodge in the Simien mountains), Axum, Hawzien, Mekele and Lalibla.
Before the tour, I had contact with Semma via e-mail and he responded quickly on our questions. Looking back, I conclude that everything matched our expectation. The car, the hotels and the local guides, everything was arranged perfectly. He also arranged a cook and assistant who made delicious meals with fresh ingredients. Semma is very friendly, has good English language skills and is easy going. He was always trying to make us feel comfortable. Driver Tommy was also very friendly and competent. During long drives he remained attentive.
My parents and I enjoyed this impressive tour through the green North of Ethiopia. Semma and Tommy made sure that we could relax and enjoy the landscapes and sights. We were also very pleased with the price we paid, especially in relation to the quality of the organisation of the tour. I can fully recommend Semma to anyone who would like to enjoy Ethiopia.

When my wife and I chose Semmamalek Kumalie as our guide for a 15-day visit to Ethiopia, we could not have made a better choice.
